Otisville Couple Injured When a Car Crashed into Their Bedroom

There was a story in the paper today about an Otisville couple injured when a car crashed into their bedroom Saturday morning on State Street. According to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, the couple were in bed when a car crashed into their bedroom and pinned them. Police state that the driver of the car pulled out of the McDonald’s across the street and lost control of his vehicle. The couple were taken to a local hospital to be treated for their serious injuries. Police are still investigating this accident.

I  am very sorry to hear about this tragic auto accident and wish the Otisville couple the fullest and speediest recovery possible.

Our Michigan car accident lawyers advise accident victims of their legal rights. Even though this accident occurred in the couple’s home, it still involved a motor vehicle thus entitling the couple to no-fault benefits. For this type of auto accident in Michigan, the injured parties can submit a claim for Michigan No-Fault insurance benefits. No-Fault benefits will cover their medical expenses, lost wages, attendant care, replacement services, and other benefits related to injuries suffered in the accident.  The injured parties can claim these benefits even if they did not have a Michigan automobile insurance policy.

In addition, the car accident injury victims may also have claims for personal injuries against any driver determined to be at fault in this auto accident. The insurance company for the negligent driver typically pays a settlement for this type of case. In this lawsuit, the injured victims can claim damages and compensation for the injuries suffered in the accident.  At the very least, the injured parties should hire the best possible lawyer to look into these possibilities.

An experienced Michigan car accident lawyer can assist the victims with this type of claim.  Auto accident victims should not speak with the insurance adjuster for the negligent driver before consulting with an attorney.

Both occupants of the car were taken to Northern Michigan Regional Hospital for treatment of their serious injuries. Police are still investigating this accident.

Mother of Five Injured in a Hit and Run Accident

I saw a tragic story on the news today about a Bridgeport mother of five injured in a hit and run accident yesterday morning near Saginaw. According to witnesses, Jessica Johnston was driving west on East Remington, with her twins and three other children, when a 2002 Rendezvous allegedly struck the rear passenger side of her vehicle. The crash broke Johnston’s back , collapsed her lung, broke her collarbone and left her paralyzed. Witnesses state they saw the driver of the vehicle flee on foot from the scene of the accident.
