Fatal Accident at a Swan Creek Township Home
On Friday, September 11th, a fatal accident at a Swan Creek Township home in Saginaw County left a man dead and his wife seriously injured. According to the Saginaw County Sheriff’s office, Stanley and Geneva Wisniewski were at home enjoying dinner when a vehicle allegedly struck their home causing serious injuries.
Stanley Wisnewski was declared dead at the scene and his wife, Geneva, was seriously injured. Ms. Wisniewski had to be airlifted to a local hospital, where she is in critical condition. The driver, a 51-year-old St. Charles man, was arrested by the police. Police are still investigating the accident and do not know if alcohol or a medical condition in the driver were a factor.
I am very sorry to hear about this tragic accident. I give my deepest condolences to the family of Stanley and hope that Geneva has a complete and full recovery.
Our Michigan car accident lawyers advise accident victims of their legal rights. For this type of auto accident in Michigan, Geneva Wisnewski can submit a claim for Michigan No-Fault insurance benefits. No-Fault benefits will cover her medical expenses, lost wages, attendant care, replacement services, and other benefits related to injuries suffered in the accident. The injured parties can claim these benefits even if they did not have a Michigan automobile insurance policy.
Also, for this type of auto accident in Michigan, the family members of Stanley Wisnewski may be able to make a claim for Survivor Loss Benefits. This can include payment of funeral expenses, lost wages, and loss of other services.
In addition, the car accident injury victims may also have claims for personal injuries against any driver determined to be at fault in this auto accident. The insurance company for the negligent driver typically pays a settlement for this type of case. In this lawsuit, the injured victims can claim damages and compensation for the injuries suffered in the accident.
Also, the family members of Stanley Wisnewski may have a claim for a Michigan wrongful death lawsuit against the driver that police determine was negligent and caused this accident. At the very least, the surviving family members of the injured parties should hire the best possible lawyer to look into these possibilities.
An experienced Michigan car accident lawyer can assist the victims with this type of claim. Auto accident victims should not speak with the insurance adjuster for the negligent driver before consulting with an attorney.
