Teen Dies In Bay City Bicycle Accident

I read a tragic story about a 13 year old boy who was killed yesterday in a Bay City bicycle accident.  The boy was struck by a vehicle driven by an 85 year old Bay City woman.  Police are trying to determine who was at fault for the accident and are continuing their investigation.

My sincerest condolences go out to the family of the young victim.  This is a huge loss that should have never happened.

I have written many articles on the large number of serious bicycle accidents in Michigan every summer.  These accidents occur for a variety of reasons, ranging from negligent motorists to bicyclists who dangerously ride in the roadways.  Regardless of the cause or who is at fault, the injuries arising from bicycle accidents are often catastrophic, like in this Bay City bicycle accident.
